Do We Need a DDI Cable for HDTV?
I was hooking up an HDTV for a friend, and his neighbor came in out of nowhere and said "You guys need a DDI cable for maximum quality". We were using a VGA to hook it up to his laptop and HDMI for his videogame console. I told him "Isn’t HDMI perfectly capable of transferring High Definition from the console? That’s how we have it now and it looks great"
He said "Nope, HDMI is obsolete, you need a DDI cable for your computer hook up and maybe a DDI adapter for your console so you can get High Definition picture. If your computer doesn’t have a DDI port, you need an adapter for that too." Just to end the conversation, we "agreed" with him so he could leave us alone. It’s in an apartment building and they share a patio.
So, what was he talking about anyway?
